Apple iPhone 17

For years, the base iPhone has been the sensible choice for those who want Apple's ecosystem without the Pro-level price tag. The iPhone 17, however, transcends mere sensibility. At $799, it’s the most compelling argument yet for skipping the Pro models entirely. Apple has finally delivered an upper-mid-range device that feels genuinely premium, not just a concession. The A19 Bionic chip, paired with a buttery smooth 120Hz OLED display – a feature that frankly, makes a world of difference and is a joy to interact with – means this phone doesn’t just keep up, it sprints. Add to that the impressive performance and significantly faster wireless charging, and you’ve got a device that punches well above its weight, finally justifying its place as the easiest base-level iPhone to recommend in years.

This isn't just an iterative update; it's a thoughtful refinement that addresses key user desires. The always-on display, while not revolutionary, is implemented with Apple's characteristic polish, adding a layer of convenience that genuinely enhances daily use. While the camera system won't dethrone the Pro Max, it's more than capable for the vast majority of users, and the overall experience is so polished, so performant, and so well-supported for years to come, that the iPhone 17 comes astonishingly close to being the perfect phone for the discerning buyer who values substance over unnecessary bells and whistles. If you’re looking for a powerful, beautiful, and remarkably capable iPhone that won't break the bank, your search ends here.
