Our Take

The ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro is here, and for those who demand uncompromised performance, it’s a no-brainer. This isn’t a device dabbling in gaming; it’s a purpose-built powerhouse that redefines what a smartphone can do. Forget about incremental updates; the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 paired with that buttery-smooth 185Hz AMOLED display creates an experience so fluid, it makes everything else feel sluggish. While some might see it as a niche device, the reality is that this level of raw power and efficiency translates into an incredibly responsive daily driver, capable of handling anything you throw at it, gaming or otherwise. If you're tired of compromises and have the budget to match your ambition, the ROG Phone 9 Pro delivers.

Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the price. At $1199, this is an investment. But for that investment, you’re not just buying a phone; you’re buying a statement. You're opting for the pinnacle of mobile processing, a display that sets new benchmarks, and a suite of gaming-centric features that are executed with precision. While it might be making "small steps towards mainstream acceptance," as some have noted, that’s precisely its appeal. It’s for the discerning buyer who understands the value of cutting-edge technology and wants a device that’s not just good, but exceptional, in every conceivable way. If you have money to burn and want a polished, no-compromises experience, the ROG Phone 9 Pro is that phone.
