Our Take
SS
The Honor Magic 8 Pro arrives with a compelling proposition at its $949 price point, aiming squarely at the premium segment. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor paired with up to 24GB of RAM ensures blistering performance, making it a powerhouse for demanding tasks and gaming. Its large 6.8-inch OLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, is a visual treat, and the overall build quality feels every bit the flagship. Trusted Reviews rightly points out its competitive edge throughout the year, and Android Central's enthusiastic recommendation isn't without merit; this is a phone that gets a lot right and feels like a significant step forward for Honor.
However, no device is perfect, and the Magic 8 Pro isn't an exception. While the battery is substantial, it doesn't quite reach "superstar" status as Stuff notes, and Honor's image processing, while capable of superb zoom shots, can be inconsistent, falling short of the absolute best in class as GSMArena highlights. Notebookcheck's assertion that it's an "excellent overall package" but with "some drawbacks" rings true. For the buyer looking for an all-around beast with top-tier performance and a gorgeous display, the Magic 8 Pro is a strong contender. Just don't expect it to dethrone the reigning champions in every single camera scenario.
