Realme 12 Pro+ 5G

For $349, the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G is a rather bold statement in the crowded lower mid-range. Realme has clearly aimed for the stars here, and for the most part, they’ve stuck the landing. The design, with its faux leather and sculpted camera module, feels far more expensive than it is, and frankly, it stands out in a sea of homogenous plastic. But the real draw, the headline act, is that periscope telephoto lens. In this segment, it's practically unheard of, and when it works, it delivers genuinely usable zoomed shots that will impress your friends. Combined with a capable main sensor and a vibrant OLED display, this phone punches well above its weight in terms of its visual presentation and photographic ambition.

However, let's be clear: this isn't a flagship killer. While the camera is a standout feature, don't expect flawless performance across the board. The UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4X RAM, while adequate for everyday tasks, remind you of the price point when you're juggling multiple demanding apps or diving into heavy gaming. The performance is fast and efficient, as noted by some, but it’s not going to redefine speed. If your priority is a phone that looks and feels premium, offers a genuinely interesting camera system with a unique zoom capability, and handles daily duties without a hitch, the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G is a compelling option that offers a significant bang for your buck. Just temper your expectations on raw power; this is about smart compromises and a few delightful surprises.
