Our Take
SS
At $1,299 the Galaxy S24 Ultra sits squarely in the premium bracket, and for good reason: its 6.8‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, now backed by Gorilla Armor glass, still feels like the pinnacle of Android display technology, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage delivers buttery‑smooth everyday performance. The S Pen integration remains a genuine productivity differentiator, and the 200 MP primary sensor, bolstered by a versatile three‑camera suite, produces results that are technically impressive without ever feeling gimmicky. Samsung’s new GenAI layer—far from being a marketing fluff—actually streamlines routine tasks, from on‑the‑fly translations to context‑aware photo edits, delivering a tangible uplift to daily use.
That said, the S24 Ultra is not a breakthrough; it refines an already familiar formula, which is why some reviewers call it “exceptionally good, but boring.” The device handles most workloads with ease, yet heavy gaming sessions can expose a modest thermal throttling under sustained load—a nuance that power users will notice. If you can stomach the premium price tag for a flagship that combines top‑tier hardware, long‑term software support, and a genuinely useful AI assistant, the S24 Ultra remains the most complete Android phone you can buy right now. Otherwise, you may find better value in the slightly less extravagant S 24+ or waiting for next‑gen competition to bite the dust.
