Our Take
SS
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 finally feels like the foldable you’ve been waiting for. At 5.9 mm closed and under 250 g, its Armor‑Aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 give the phone a premium heft without the bulk that plagued earlier models. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM delivers buttery‑smooth multitasking on the 8.0‑inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, while the 120 Hz refresh keeps everything from scrolling feeds to gaming sessions fluid. Camera upgrades – a 50 MP main sensor plus a refined ultra‑wide and telephoto trio – finally bring the foldable’s photography in line with Samsung’s flagship S‑series, and the 5,000 mAh battery, bolstered by Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, easily powers a full day of heavy use.
At $1,799, the Z Fold7 sits squarely in the high‑end tier, and that price tag will only make sense if you value the unique blend of tablet‑sized productivity and pocketable convenience. The device’s durability has improved markedly; long‑term crease visibility tests show a barely noticeable line after weeks of folding, and Samsung’s promise of four‑year software support cushions the investment. If you can live with the premium cost and want a phone that truly blurs the line between smartphone and portable workstation, the Fold7 earns its place at the top of the foldable pile – otherwise, you’d be better off with a traditional flagship.

“Review: Samsung's latest book-style foldable balances form and function by giving the cameras a boost and stretching the displays. The compromises are minimal, but that $2,000 price tag certainly isn't.”
