Our Take
SS
For $699, the OnePlus 15R lands squarely in that crowded upper-mid-range segment, and frankly, it’s a smart play. OnePlus has honed in on what truly matters for the everyday user: raw performance and battery endurance that simply refuses to quit. You're getting a device that punches above its weight, delivering a fluid, responsive experience thanks to that powerhouse Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and a generous helping of LPDDR5X RAM. Don't expect the absolute best camera system on the market, nor the bells and whistles like wireless charging, but what you do get is a remarkably polished daily driver that prioritizes speed and longevity. If you’re tired of phones that die by dinnertime or stutter under pressure, this is the OnePlus for you.
Look, the R-series has always been about delivering a strong core experience without the flagship price tag, and the 15R nails that formula. It's a no-nonsense device that understands its audience. For a significant chunk of the cost saved compared to its more premium siblings, you're inheriting nearly all the same strengths – a vibrant, buttery-smooth 165Hz AMOLED display, robust build quality, and connectivity that's future-proofed with Wi-Fi 7. OnePlus has made a calculated decision to trim the fat, and for buyers who value a fast, reliable phone that lasts all day and then some, the 15R is a compelling proposition that deserves your attention.
